Glasgow, Scotland – July 31, 2026.

It was another remarkable day for Jamaican athletes at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, as they muscled their way to four more medals. They won a gold and three bronze to take the team’s tally to 12 medals so far, including five gold.

Women’s 400mH:
Sanique Walker covered herself in glory in the final, snatching gold with a gutsy run of 54.00, and a personal best. Compatriot Shiann Salmon finished fifth in 55.44.

Women’s 200m:
National champion Alana Reid fought every inch of the way to ensure bronze, posting a time of 22.56. Jamaica’s other participants were very close behind, as Ashanti Moore 22.57 and Lavanya Williams, 22.62, were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Men’s 200m:
Christoper Taylor continues to impress in the half lap, producing a personal best of 20.11 to harness bronze. Jevaughn Powell finished 5th with 20.36.

Men’s 400mH.
Assinie Wilson turned up in awesome form and was able to grab the bronze medal with 49.22.

Women’s 800m:
Kelly-Ann Beckford finished 7th in the final with 2:02.77.

Women’s Long Jump:
After winning silver in the triple jump, Ackelia Smith returned a day later to qualify for the final of the long jump posting 6.58m. Noa Robinson did not register a mark.

Mixed 4x400m relay:
Jamaica, with a quartet of Delano Kennedy, Shana Kaye Anderson, Christopher Taylor and Leah Anderson, finished 3rd in their heat with 3 :17.36. They qualified fifth fastest time overall.
