Glasgow, Scotland – August 1, 2026.

Jamaica’s athletes finished the 2026 Commonwealth games in a blaze of glory. They mined six medals on the final day of track and field, including five gold and a silver. Jamaican athletes finished the games with a total of 18 medals, consisting of 10 gold, three silver and five bronze.

Mixed 4X400m Relay:
The quartet of Zandrion Barnes (46.30), Leah Anderson (50.80), Delano Kennedy (45.20) and Dejanea Oakley (48.67), won the event in dramatic fashion. Oakley on anchor, received the baton more than 20 meters behind the lead pack headed by Nigeria. Oakley clawed back the distance bit by bit and then ran away from them in the last 50 metres for a classic victory and her second gold medal of the day.

Men’s Triple Jump:
Jordan Scott was determined to improve on his 5th position four years ago. He did not have to go near his season’s best, but he won gold posting 16.72m.

Women’s 400m:
Dejanea Oakley justified her position as the overwhelming favourite coming into these games. She needed just 50.21 to win gold for Jamaica on this occasion.

Women’s 4x100m:
The quartet of Alana Reid, Jodean Williams, Lavanya Williams and Ashanti Moore fought off the opposition to snatch gold in a time of 42.65.

Men’s 800m.
Navasky Anderson tracked the leader for 700m and then produced a breathtaking last 100m to win the final with a time of 1: 45.33, the first time a Jamaican has ever won the 800m at a global event.

Men’s Discus:
Fredrick Dacres, who won the event in 2018, could only manage silver on this occasion with 65.10m. Ralford Mullings finished 5th with 62.85m.

Men’s 4x100m relay:
Jamaica finished 7th in the final with 39. 07.

Men’s 400m:
Zandrion Barnes was only able to find 45.68, which saw him finish 7th in the final.

Women’s Long Jump:
Ackelia Smith managed 6.52m for 8th in the final.
