Jamaica’s athletes picked up their second medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo when the Mixed 4x100m relay team of Travis Williams, Niesha Burgher, Adrian Kerr and Jura Levy won gold on day three. They had originally finished second with 41.06, but were promoted after the home team, the Dominican Republic, were disqualified. Puerto Rico were promoted to third after Mexico, who finished third, were also disqualified.

Men’s 400mH
The duo of Romario Stewart (49.87) and Malik James-King (50.25) were not able to replicate their good form from the semifinals and finished out of the medals in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Men’s 110mH
Sharvis Simmonds posted the quickest time in the semifinals, 13.56. Countryman Shaquane Gordon did not face the starter.

Men’s Long Jump
Nikaoli Williams spanned 7.76m which was only good enough for fourth in the final.

Men’s 400m
Javier Brown looked good in winning his semifinal with 45.51 while Kimar Farquharson advanced from his semifinal after finishing third with 45.90.

Women’s 400m
Joanne Reid ran 53.92 for fifth and did not qualify.
