Subject: JAAA President Dr. Warren Blake Condolences Captain Horace Burrell JP, OM

On behalf of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), it’s executive, members, athletes and the entire track and field community, I extend deep condolences to the family of Captain Burrell on his passing.

Captain Burrell has given indelible service to his country through his military career and as a sports administrator. He shouldered the dreams and aspirations of a small nation and took us to the loftiest possible heights. In doing so he has carved his place in the storied history of Jamaica.

It has been a distinct pleasure to have worked with him over the years. His will and strength were second only to his love of Jamaica and football. He advocated consistently and arduously for the benefit of the region and Jamaica’s football.
