Jamaica’s teams to different junior and senior to championships, including the Pan American games and the IAAF World Championships, will be selected on Monday, one day after the end of a high quality National Championships.

Unfortunately, there was controversy on the final day as an athlete was disqualified from the 100m hurdles and refused to leave the track. The trio of hurdlers will be selected by the JAAA selection committee.
The stars of the meet were undoubtedly double Olympic champions Elaine Thompson and ShellyAnn Fraser Pryce. Both were stellar in the 100m posting a world-leading 10.73 on Friday with Thompson being adjudged the winner. Junior, Briana Williams was spectacular running a National Junior record 10.94 for third. Thompson and Fraser Pryce returned to run 22.00 and 22.23, respectively,in the 200m on Sunday.
Another outstanding run came from Olympic bronze medallist Shericka Williams who ran a 49.78 PR, the second fastest time in the world this season.
The entire results are now posted on the webpage, while the teams will be posted as soon as they are ratified.
