Jamaica experienced its best World Under 20 championships ever, winning a total of 16 medals, four more than the record of twelve in 2018.
This haul of 16 was the most by any country at this global event. This includes six gold, seven silver and three bronze medals.
Although the United States won fewer medals (15), it took the top spot because it won seven gold medals. Jamaica finished second overall on points (126) gathered through placings, with the United States taking the top spot with 166 points.

There were some scintillating performances by Jamaica on the final day of these magnificent championships. Kerrica Hill set the ball rolling with flawless execution and a Championship record of 12.77 in the 100mh for women. Teammate Alexis James gave a special run as well, completing the quinella with 12.87.
The 4x400m women’s quartet of Dejanea Oakley, Abigail Campbell, Oneika McAnnuff and Alliah Baker ran as if their futures depended on it. However, the exchanges were not the best and they finished second behind the United States which clocked 3:28.96. Jamaica did 3:31.59.
The men’s 4x400m team of Shemar Palmer, Shaemar Uter, Jasauna Dennis and Delano Kennedy also finished second to the USA, posting 3:05.72 to the Americans’ 3:04.47.
