At the conclusion of the RJRGleaner Sportsman & Sportswoman of the Year Award on Friday, January 20, 2023, Track and Field walked away with the coveted top spots.

Sportswoman of the Year went to Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who had a fantastic season on the track winning another spectacular 100m World title and dipping below 10.70 numerous times. This is the fifth Sportswoman of the Year Award for Fraser-Pryce.

Rasheed Broadbell won the male equivalent in acknowledgement of a stellar season where he defeated reigning World Champion Grant Holoway in an emphatic Diamond League victory and became only the 3rd Jamaican to dip below the 13-second barrier at 110m Hurdles.

The performances of Fraser-Pryce and Broadbell bode well for their club, Elite Performance Track Club. Head Coach, Reynaldo Walcott is satisfied that the club has had a good season and the future is looking bright.

For 2023 and the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Fraser-Pryce will be looking to add more medals to her collection, while Broadbell will be aiming for something more to add to his Commonwealth victory of 2022.
