The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) is happy to announce that a recent issue affecting user account registration on athleticsja.org has been resolved.
We understand the frustration this caused for users who attempted to register for new accounts over the past week. When a user clicked the “register” button, they were directed to an error page instead of receiving a confirmation email with a link to activate their account.
Identifying the Culprit
Our technical team worked diligently to diagnose the problem. This involved a process called debugging, which required simulating the registration process and analyzing error messages. The culprit? A few misplaced lines of code were inadvertently added during a file update. These extra lines corrupted the file and caused the malfunction.
The Fix and How We’re Helping Registered Users
The affected files have been repaired, and the registration process is now functioning correctly. Additionally, a bulk activation email resend has been initiated to ensure all users who signed up during this period will receive the email and be able to activate their accounts.
