Garth Gayle, OD, JP and his team have been granted a second term as the JAAA Executive Committee. This is as nominations closed with no challengers.
There will be a few changes to the JAAA’s structure, however. Julette Parkes will be the new 4th VP, replacing Vilma Charlton, and Ewan Scott will return as Director of the Bureau of Records, replacing Leroy Cooke.
These changes will be ratified at the JAAA’s annual general meeting scheduled for November 23, 2024, at the Jamaica College Auditorium. There will also be presentations from the President and Treasurer and a vote on constitutional reform.
This comes after Gayle’s first term was marked by the successful reintroduction of athletics under strict COVID-19 guidelines and Jamaica’s representation at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo during Gayle’s first term.
