The Kingston leg of the inaugural Grand Slam Track series, held at Jamaica’s National Stadium from April 4th to 6th, 2025, concluded with the crowning of 12 individual category champions. The innovative format saw athletes compete in two different events within their respective categories over the three days.

Winners of the Kingston Grand Slam Track Leg:

  • Women’s Short Sprints: Melissa Jefferson-Wooden (United States) secured the title after winning both the 100m and 200m events.
  • Women’s Long Sprints: Gabby Thomas (United States) emerged as the champion, with a victory in the 200m and a strong performance in the 400m.
  • Women’s Short Hurdles: Danielle Williams (Jamaica).
  • Women’s Long Hurdles: Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (United States) secured the title after winning the 400m hurdles and the 400m flat.
  • Women’s Short Distance: Diribe Welteji (Ethiopia)
  • Women’s Long Distance: Ejgayehu Taye (Ethiopia).
  • Men’s Short Sprints: Kenny Bednarek (United States) dominated the category, winning both the 100m and 200m.
  • Men’s Long Sprints: Matthew Hudson-Smith (Great Britain).
  • Men’s Short Hurdles: Sasha Zhoya (France).
  • Men’s Long Hurdles: Alison Dos Santos (Brasil) was the clear winner of both the 400m Hurdles and the 400 flat..
  • Men’s Short Distance: Emmanuel Wanyonyi (Kenya) claimed the title, highlighted by his victory in the 1500m.
  • Men’s Long Distance: Grant Fisher (United States).

Following the successful Kingston event, the Grand Slam Track series moves on to its next leg in Miami, scheduled to take place from May 2nd to 4th, 2025.
