2025 National Junior & Senior Championships: Register Early!

The Athletes’ Entry/Registration Form for the 2025 JAAA/Puma National Junior & Senior Championships went live on May 5th, and while it’s still early in the registration period, entries are coming in steadily. The JAAA strongly encourages all interested athletes to register early to avoid any potential disruptions to their submissions.

Historically, the majority of entries for the National Championships are received within the final 10 days of the registration period. Last year, almost half of the 670 entries were submitted during this peak time. While the JAAA has implemented measures to mitigate a shutdown of the site, website services can indeed become overwhelmed when a large number of users attempt to access the same resource simultaneously. Registering early is the best way to ensure your entry is processed smoothly.

The National Championships page at https://athleticsja.org/national-championships/ provides detailed information on all the requirements needed to make a successful entry. We urge athletes to carefully read this information before attempting their submission. It is also important to note that entries can be edited by the user before the final deadline, offering flexibility for any necessary adjustments.

To view the completed athletes’ entries received so far, please head to the Athletes’ Entries Page at https://athleticsja.org/national-championships/athletes-entries/. Remember, you must have an account on the JAAA’s site to access these forms and view submitted entries.

Important Note on Standards and Order of Events:
While the athlete’s entry form is live, please be aware that the Order of Events and Entry Standards currently listed on the National Championships Page are the 2024 versions. These should be used as a guide only, as the 2025 Drafts will be made available in due course.

Accreditation ID Cards (AIC) for Support Personnel and Media:

For Athlete Support Personnel and Media/Press Personnel, the Accreditation ID Card (AIC) request forms are also ready for use and can be accessed via the National Championships page (https://athleticsja.org/national-championships/).

Path to International Representation:

The 2025 JAAA/Puma National Junior & Senior Championships will serve as a critical selection event for Jamaican national teams aiming for prestigious international competitions. These include the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, the NACAC U18 & U23 Championships (venue TBA), and the Pan American U20 Championships, a part of the Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025 in Asunción, Paraguay.

Passport Requirement for National Team Selection:

Athletes aspiring to be selected for any of these national teams must possess a valid Jamaican Passport. If you do not currently have one, or if your passport is expired or nearing its expiration date, you will need to secure or renew it promptly to be considered for selection.

Questions and Support:

Should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, especially regarding citizenship or selection information, we encourage you to review the relevant policy pages on the JAAA website. Alternatively, you can contact the JAAA directly via the contact form available on the site.

We wish all our athletes a pleasant experience using our site and look forward to safe, injury-free outings with satisfying performances, beginning with the JAAA WA Championships Preparation Meet this weekend!
