The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) wishes to announce that Jamaica’s national junior team will depart the island on Thursday, April 2, 2026, to compete in the CARIFTA Games, scheduled for April 4–6, 2026 in St. George’s, Grenada. Following the successful staging of the annual ISSA Boys and Girls Championships, adjustments have been made to the team due to injury concerns affecting a few originally selected athletes.

Boys Under-20 Adjustments

The following athletes have been withdrawn and replaced:
  • Riquelme Reid (Excelsior High)
  • Deequan Maragh (Camperdown High)
  • Junior Gallimore (Hydel High)
They have been substituted by:
  • Khamani Gordon (Calabar High)
  • Elijah Smith (Jamaica College)
  • Jabari Matterson (William Knibb Memorial High)
  • Jabulani McLeod (Kingston College)

Girls Under-20 Adjustment

  • Annastasia Hall (Holmwood High) has been withdrawn and replaced by Shanika Lindsay (Alphansus Davis High School)

Additional Selections

The Association has also added the following athletes to strengthen Jamaica’s presence in the combined events:
  • Britani Barron (Edwin Allen High) – Girls Heptathlon
  • Jaquan Souden (Happy Grove High) – Boys Decathlon
