The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) is pleased to announce that the official 2026 Senior Entry Standards for the National Junior & Senior Championships are now available. Athletes aiming to compete in “The Trials” from June 18–21, 2026, should review these benchmarks immediately to confirm their eligibility status.
Shifting Trends in Performance Standards
This year’s standards reflect the evolving landscape of global and local athletics. Fans and coaches will notice distinct adjustments in several key disciplines:
- Men’s Sprints: The entry standards for the Men’s 100m and 400m have been lowered compared to last year, suggesting a slight shift in the depth of these sprint fields.
- Men’s Jumps: In contrast, the qualifying marks for the Long Jump, High Jump, and Triple Jump have been raised. These higher standards indicate a significant surge in performance levels within the jumping events both in Jamaica and on the world stage over the past season.
Essential Preparation for Registration
To ensure a smooth registration experience, the JAAA Entry Support Team urges all athletes, coaches, and agents to thoroughly read the instructions provided on the National Championships Information page. Our monitoring systems indicate that many entries remain in an Incomplete status due to missing critical information.
To avoid delays or incomplete submissions, please take note of these frequently missed requirements:
- Passport Documentation: If you indicate you possess a Jamaican passport, the system requires the passport number, issue date, and expiration date. Most importantly, you must upload a clear photo of the Bio Page (the page featuring your photograph and personal details).
- Full Legal Name: The registration form requires a First, Middle, and Last name. The middle name field is mandatory and cannot be left blank. If you do not have a middle name, please enter a period (.) or a dash (-) to proceed.
Manage and Edit Your Entry
The registration system is designed to be flexible. You do not need to complete the entire form in one sitting. If you are missing specific details, you may use the “Save and Complete Later” button to store your progress.
Furthermore, entries can be edited even after they have been submitted. If you achieve a better performance metric before the registration deadline, you are have the option to log back in and update your entry with your latest data. You can manage your submissions by logging into your account and selecting “Manage your Entry” from the National Championships menu, or by clicking “View your Entries” on the information page.
Please have all required documents and personal details ready before beginning the process to ensure your participation in this year’s championships. We wish all athletes the best of success in their preparations.
