Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – August 3, 2026.

Sprinter Bouwahjgie Nkrumie picked up Jamaica first medal on the second day of Track and Field at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games currently underway in the Dominican Republic. He grabbed silver in the 100m with 10.17 in a final won by Ronal Longa of Colombia in 10.07. The other Jamaican participant in the event, Javari Thomas, ran 10.35 in his semifinal and did not advance to the final.

Women’s 100m:
Krystal Sloley finished seventh in the final in a time of 11.38. She was the only finalist as Natasha Morrison was earlier eliminated in the semifinal after running 11.70 for third.

Men’s 400mH:
Two Jamaicans are in the final. Malik James-King put himself in a good position by winning semifinal one in the fastest time, 49.30. He will be accompanied by countryman Romario Stewart who posted 49.77 in semifinal two to be fifth fastest overall.

Mixed 4x400m relay:
Jamaica finished in 6th position with a time of 3 minutes 23.66.

Men’s high jump:
Lushane Wilson scaled the bar at 2.14m for 5th position
