Trinidad and Tobago, April 20, 2025 – As the 52nd Carifta Games in Trinidad and Tobago draw closer to their conclusion, Jamaica has significantly extended its lead atop the medal table following a dominant performance on Day 2. With the three-day spectacle wrapping up today, the chasing pack faces a considerable challenge to unseat the reigning champions.

After Day 2, Jamaica boasts an impressive tally of 43 medals, comprising 17 gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze. This marks a substantial increase from their Day 1 total of 20 medals and solidifies their position at the forefront of the competition.

The Bahamas remain in second place, also increasing their medal count to 22 (10 gold, 10 silver, 2 bronze). Host nation Trinidad and Tobago has moved into third place with 16 medals (5 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze), overtaking Grenada, which now sits in fifth with 8 medals (1 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze). The Cayman Islands have moved into fourth place with 3 medals (2 gold, 0 silver, 1 bronze).

Other nations adding to their medal hauls or appearing on the table after Day 2 include Guyana with 4 medals, Barbados with 6 medals, and St Kitts and Nevis with 3 medals. The U.S. Virgin Islands and Dominica have also registered their first medals.
