Tissanna Hickling was the outstanding performer at the 4th All-Comers meet held at the National Stadium on June 1. She virtually booked her spot on the aircraft to the IAAF World Championship to be held later this year in Doha, Qatar, with a mammoth 6.82m in the Long jump.

The qualifying distance is 6.72m and it is unlikely, based on the history of Jamaica’s National Championships, that three others will surpass that distance.

Prior to that performance, Hickling had given a glimpse of her form with a good 6.70m at the Stadium on May 11.

Only Chantel Malone of the British Virgin Islands has gone further this season, posting 6.90m. Another Jamaican, Chanice Porter, has also spanned 6.73m this season.
