VCB has a packed resume. Since her Olympic relay silver in 2000, she has piled up so much success that TRACK AND FIELD NEWS named her one of the ten best female athletes of the 2000-2009 decade.
You name it and she’s won it – all except the Olympic 100-metre title. She’s twice been Olympic 200-metre champion, and also has world titles at 60 metres indoors and 100 metres outdoors safely tucked away.
An ace when the chips are down, she has twice set 200-metre personal bests in Olympic finals. Recent improvements in her start have tumbled her 100-metre personal best from 10.85 to 10.78 in 2010 and to 10.76 in 2011.
With the 2011 World Championship rounds reduced in both events from four each to three, the former Vere Technical and Arkansas University star finally captured the 200 metre gold.
