Big Shot Invitational

The Big Shot Invitational meeting commenced in 2004 at Kingston College, where it was hosted for 3 years until it was moved to St. Hugh’s High School for another 6 years. In 2012 this meet was transferred to what can now be deemed its home at the Excelsior High School.

This is the only throws meet in the Caribbean which has had the privilege of creating World Leads and National Records in the Discus Throw event.

Big Shot Invitational started as a means of providing qualifiers for the Penn Relays, however, it since evolved into a showcase event for throwers, as it provided a medium for field events not to be overshadowed by track events.
