Glasgow, Scotland – July 29, 2026. Jamaica’s track and field athletes did not win a medal on the second day of action at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, but many advanced in their individual events.

100m Men:
Neither Rohan Watson nor Ackeen Blake advanced to the final of the event. Watson finished 6th in semifinal one, posting 10.12, while Blake was third in semifinal two with 10.06.

100m Women:
Jodean Williams was the lone Jamaican starter in the final and she finished 5th with 11.09. Compatriot Jonielle Smith did not turn up for the final of the event after running 11.07 in semifinal three.

Women’s High Jump:
Jamaica’s sole finalist, defending champion Lamara Distin, was not at her best in the pouring rain and finished just off the podium in 4th, scaling 1.87m.

Women’s Hammer:
Nayoka Clunis could not get into a rhythm and unfortunately fouled all three throws in the final.

Women’s 400m:
Both participants advanced to the semi-finals. Leah Anderson was third in heat two with 52.74, while Shana Kaye Anderson finished second in heat three, posting 52.71.

Men’s 400m:
Delano Kennedy finished second in heat two with 45.82, while former world champion in the event, Antonio Watson, won heat three in 46.36. Zandrion Barnes won heat four with 45.13, the fastest overall time of the round.

Men’s 800m:
National record holder Navasky Anderson was an easy third in heat two, posting 1:48.1 to advance to the semifinal.
