Ludlow Watts

A retired banker (retail and corporate), Mr Watts has served for twenty years as the Treasurer of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA). His principal responsibilities include fundraising and the day to day management of the association’s financial affairs.

His Managerial experience also includes his leadership as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Government Agency with responsibility for Sports. In addition, he has also benefitted from leadership training at the University of Manchester and the Alcan International Leadership Series.

Mr Watts has been involved with the JAAA since 1985. He has been Jamaica’s Chief Starter since 1996 and has officiated at major local and International Meets, including the Boys and Girls Championships, Jamaica International Invitational Meet (JIIM), Racers Grand Prix, IAAF World Junior Championships in 2002, the CAC Championships and Jamaica's National Championships.

This athletics enthusiast holds the distinction of being one of the five (5) members of the North American Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) panel of international starters. A consummate professional and team player, Mr Watts has been the Manager of many teams to international track and field events such as the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Relays and the Commonwealth Games.

Mr Watts is the father of four children and two of his three sons have represented Jamaica in track and field at the Olympics and World Championships, and the other in the Under 17 Football Competition.
