Eugene, USA – August 8, 2026

Two more medals were added to Jamaica’s tally on day four at the World U20 Championships through sprinter Shanoya Douglas and sprint hurdler Tianna Marshall.

Jamaica now has five medals: one gold, three silver and a bronze.

Douglas, who had copped silver in the 100m two days earlier, was expected to go one better in the 200m, her favourite event. But Mia Maxwell, the American who beat her in the 100m had other ideas. They came off turn equal, but Maxwell had more to give. She motored away to the gold in 22.37 with Douglas beaten in second at 22.68. The other Jamaica in the final, Sashana Johnson, finished fourth in 23.17.
